Founder & CEO
Shaquira Robinson
Shaquira Robinson is a mentor, role model, leader, sister, and learner. She sees herself as a CEO for girls and women—chief encouragement officer. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, she is a recipient of the Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship which has allowed her to graduate from Purdue University with two Bachelor’s degrees. It has also allowed her to complete her Masters in Public Health at the University of South Florida in 2018. While a full-time student, Shaquira continued to dedicate herself to growing and fulfilling Girl Talk’s mission. Girl Talk 1 on 1 continues to be a part of her purpose, as Shaquira recognizes the necessity of the services and spaces created by the organization.
Director of Operations
Lawanda Wright
Lawanda Wright, native Miamian and mother of four is currently the Director of Operations for Girl Talk 1 on 1, Inc. She has been a part of Girl Talk since its inception. Lawanda is a Section Chief for Miami-Dade County Small Business Development Division where she assists local businesses in all their contracting and economic needs with the County Government.
One of her passions and reasons for her involvement with Girl Talk 1 on 1, Inc. outside of being a mother of three girls including the Founder is to be an advocate, a vessel of information, a support system, and empowering for personal and professional development of young girls and women in the community
Director of Fiscal Operations
Candice Jenkins
Candice Jenkins, native Miamian currently serves as Director of Finance for Girl Talk 1 on 1, Inc and serves on the Girl Talk 1 on 1 Marketing Committee. Candice graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Florida State University and has worked in the field of accounting, finance and project management for over 7 years. In addition to her career, she also owns a Mini Doughnut Food Truck in Miami, Florida.
What does Girl Talk 1 on 1 mean to Candice? As a teen & young adult I was surrounded by women that empowered and educated me from every avenue. Girl Talk 1 on 1 provides a gateway for myself & other to be that opportunity to young women in Miami. Through every community event we are able to help identify where we are needed the most so we can build and support our future women of tomorrow.
Director of Information Technology
Arias Austin
Arias Austin, native Miamian currently serves as Director of Information Technology for Girl Talk 1 on 1, Inc. She is also a part of the Girl Talk 1 on 1 conference planning committee. Arias who graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Computer Engineering and a Masters’s Degree in Cybersecurity from Southern New Hampshire likes to describe herself as an Engineer turned Entrepreneur. Her day-to-day basis consists of running her mobile icee truck (SluttyIcees),app development company, and growing her women’s sneaker community.
What does Girl Talk 1 on 1 mean to Arias? It means girl/women empowerment. It means girl power, it means fierce, it means we run the world. Being the oldest of three Arias knows how it feels not to have an older sibling. To be able to step in and be an older sister/mentor to one of these young ladies is such a blessing.
