Girl Talk 1 on 1 host an annual conference for high school girls in Miami Dade County. We currently work with and serve Young Women’s Preparatory Academy of Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). We are in the beginning phases of expanding and serving other high schools in need in MDCPS. .

The Girl Talk conference is a one-day conference where we bring in professionals from different areas of expertise to speak on topics the committee has chosen. These professionals volunteer to participate in and facilitate a workshop. Throughout the day, the girls participate in grade-level workshops and activities focused on professional and personal development, encouraging healthy self-esteem and confidence. This one-day conference is a time to empower and build character, self-esteem, life skills, and a more positive mindset. It also allows these young ladies to engage and discuss real-world topics and be exposed to information they wouldn’t receive in a normal school setting. It cultivates and fosters relationships and helps break down barriers they may be having among themselves.
